We purchased our system in Nov. 2003. We’re in Houston. Our system didn’t seem to work for several months. We too were told to keep the ac setting in the “ON” position. Then in May we had someone from another company come out and look at the system and he told us due to the humidity in Houston, we needed to have the ac setting on the “Auto” position. We have done that since, and can now feel a difference in air quality.

We are having problems with PUreatech of Houston who are no longer pureatech but now doing business as IAQ Concepts. The contract included a service agreement which we paid for in which IAQ Concepts were to come to our house and change the filters every 3 months and they would bring the filters with them.
THey have changed our filters only once since the installation in Nov.
NOw they say they will come out and change our filters but with their own filters and not the Pureatech filters. Problem is the system specifically indicates that our warranty on our $7000 unit will be voided if we use any filters that are not Pureatech filters.

I have repeatedly contacted IAQ (formerly known as Pureatech of Houston) and spoken with Jordan Lera, the owner, as well as Sheryl, the office manager. They both repeatly reassured me that my pureatech filters were on their way, but it was all a scam 'cuz they have been telling me this for 4 months now and the filters are no where to be seen.

All I want is my filters (which costs $500 for a years supply) or my money reimbursed so that I may buy my own pureatech filters.
They refuse to do either. And I know there are a lot of other people who have been scammed the same way we have been.

If you have suffered as we have, I recommend you contact the Attorney General’s office as well as file a complaint with the BBB.
