Determining best central air installation contractor

Hello,
I am interested in adding central air to my 1200 sf ranch in the New England area. I have received estimates from 4 different contractors and now must make a decision. From what I have read from a prior posting and also talking to others is that the installation is more important thenthe type of brand. With that said what are some questions to ask to make sure I am getting the best installation for my money? Is it the size and type of piping used? Additional units added,ie. blowers, humidifiers, etc?
