MS Windows and old fogeys?
I think of something really important I need to do with the computer. I turn it on and it takes Windows XP 11 minutes to boot up.
When it finally comes up, I FORGOT what I was going to do.
Does this happen to anybody else????

Use stand by.
It opens up a LOT faster.
Reboot once a week or so and you're good to go.

have u ran any kind of virus scan...cleaned your registry...spy wear scanner?

all those things will kill your computer like a plugged filter
