Bought a bike yesterday...
2003 V-Star 1100, 14k miles. $4000. Windshield, cover, helmet, gloves, and backpack. Very good condition. A little over priced according to NADA but the seller is a Marine DI at Parris Island with a preemy baby just home from the hospital. Soft spot in my heart for Marines.
No reserve. No retreat. No regrets.
For those who have fought for it, freedom has a sweetness the protected will never know.

I had a couple back in the day, like 1972.......I had a Honda Superhawk.
I would never get on another bike though, takes too long to heal.

Ditto. It's amazing how resilient a young body is. Got hit head-on by a car, riding my bike when I was 18, and "limped" away from it, walking out of the ER. Flew through the air maybe 30' or so before hitting the pavement.
Had the bolts rattle loose out of the front fender once. Fender dropped, locking up the front wheel at about 40 MPH at about that same age.
The last one happened about age 40, when I turned through a trail of motor oil on the road. Still have a piece of my elbow floating around in there from that one.
That's when I decided I didn't want to be Evel-Knevel.

I T-boned a car back in '76 and last year I low sided my Goldwing. Road rash on my left shoulder, broke or cracked a couple of ribs.
No biggy, drove the bike home and still ride today
apparently I crash every 30 years or so

I think older bikes like that look unappealing. They don't look cool looking.
