Seems like a lot of time in here spent arguing over who is better to run our country. Sound like a bunch of children in here fighting a mute point. Face it, with all the facts, they both are liars.
Our beloved country is in sad shape and it's going to get sadder no matter who of the two is in command.
The ball is already in momentum: A war started in a country based on lies about WMD. The lies to cover it up and sidestep the issue. Meanwhile more and more nations are losing respect for our once great nation. What about the soaring deficit? And all the other major problems our country is dealing with?
I don't see the situation improving as long as greed and dishonesty are the prerequisites for our polititians.

Our country is in great shape compared to other nations or should I say most. John Kerry wants the American people to think we are in bad shape so he can remedy it. Create a problem out of thin air then attempt to solve it with your agenda.Originally posted by thermojohn

It is obvious you either don't know the definition of "lie/liar" or you believe them.No reserve. No retreat. No regrets.
For those who have fought for it, freedom has a sweetness the protected will never know.

Yeah all you democrats are right "the Sky is Falling and only John Kerry can save us". Like he saved Rassman after knocking him off the back of his boat because he was running away.
John Kerry is using the same tactics Clinton used in 92. Make up all kinds of stories about how bad the economy is and how everyone is starving and how Kerry will magically fix everything and heal all the wounds that we dirty Americans have caused in the world. Demonize the president even tho the congress controls all the spending.
And oh by the way Kerry hasn't accomplished anything other than fake a lot of after action reports, get awarded bogus medals, demoralize our troops by giving aid and comfort to the viet cong, get elected to the senate, and marry two rich women. Yeah he'll make a great Commander in Chief. He makes Clinton look like honest Abe.

Such hostility!
Chill out, Oh Dude of Infinite Wisdom. Life is great! I have a very profitable air conditioning business, I love what I do for a living, I have a wonderful family, and am glad to be lucky enough to live in a free country. I'm also Republican by the way.
If one can't see the greed, egotism, and dishonesty in our American politics (Democrat or Republican), and the result of it, then who is it that has their head up their ass? You don't sometimes get embarrassed or ashamed about some of the things that the representatives of our country do? Or is it unpatriotic to think or admit it?

I love to hear people preach the doom and gloom we are about to face, and how America is going to hell in a hand basket with gasoline britches on. We are spiraling out of control and no one can do any thing about it. (Yes America is not perfect, but neither are you or I and we are America.)
Then they do not vote or do anything to make the place better (I am talking about members of my own family here so don’t get too overheated). They complain about everything yet are perfectly content to stay in America.
I have a good idea for the people who don’t like the way things are going.
1. Register to vote then you have some say even if it is only the lesser of two evils
2. Do something constructive to help someone else.
It is absolutely amazing how wonderful your wife will seem after. Someone who’s wife cheated on him while he was at war in Iraq for six months cried his eyes out in your house.
After you console someone who just lost a child to leukemia and their child’s last word were “Help me Daddy” all of a sudden the greed of politicians doesn’t seem so important. In general your life will seem much better
3. Join the armed forces and defend people’s right to have a stupid opinion, vote etc. See the reasons why we fight some wars. I personally don’t mind going to fight overseas it means my children will never have to see a tank roll down the street.
4. If any of the above doesn’t appeal to you, you are perfectly free to leave this country.
I would only suggest it on a trial basis. Because once you actually see how the rest of the world lives you will be back very quickly simply because we are the best in the world here in America.
For some reason everyone else in the world is trying to get here I guess it is to see how bad the corruption really is. I for one will not let America go down with out a fight I hope that you can say the same!

no hostility here
I'm really tired of the direction this country is sliding and yes I am ashamed of our crooked politicians. Being a vet and in the military I feel it is a slap in the face that Kerry is even considered as presidential material considering his antiwar/antimilitary history. But this country has a history of slapping the vets in the face and then acting as tho they appreciate us when they need us. I am also a registered republican but I don't consider myself tied to the republican party because they are not representing their base (which is conservative) anymore. The democrats have totally slid into socialism and are no longer the party they once were under John F. Kennedy. So what to do? A third party vote is a waste considering the way the electoral system is set up. That how we got Clinton in office. I will vote the lesser of two evils and vote for Bush. He's not perfect but he's better than Kerry. At least he served honorably and didn't piss on his fellow vets and help the enemy. He was my governor and he is a good man not anything like he is portrayed by the leftist media. The single most important issue of this election is the war on terror. We have to win. There is no negotiating with terrorists. No such thing as a sensitive war. We don't need a president that will change his mind every time the political wind blows. Kerry has flip flopped so many times he has no credibility.

That argument is as old as the nation is, time in again people complain about the state of affairs, yet this is the norm. Wars start, countries hate us, politician are crooked, the dificit is out of control.
Just go back in time and you'll see that the more things change the more they stay the same, nothing new here, and you'll not change anything so just sit back and enjoy the ride.

and by the way.....
There were no lies about WMD. Saddam had them and he used them before. He was actively seeking nuclear capabilities. We have found precursors to nerve agents in Iraq. There were no lies to cover it up. We were not mistaken to take Saddam out if we had conducted a more aggressive war in Iraq and not let the leftist media influence our decisions we wouldn't have the terrorist problem there we have now. The media has reported we have found stockpiles of insecticides in Iraq. Well duh... That is what nerve agent is. They just reported as insecticide to bolster the lie that were no WMDs. The only people lying and twisting the truth is the media.
