Chiller / Boiler Efficiency Optimization

I am doing research on Chiller / Boiler / Absorber Efficieny Optimization. From the perspective of a Service / Maintenance Contractor (or business owner), would a hardware / software package that interprets "real-time" efficieny data, uncovers possible inefficiencies and suggests solutions be a valuable sales tool (i.e., provide a competitive advantage in your market) for your company? Software would allow for remote monitoring of said equipment, efficiency reporting (daily/weekly/monthly, etc.) for your customers - potential savings on power factor ratings / penalties, staff deployment based on "red flags", faster identification of possible problems and solutions, etc.

Where is Sysint when you need him,

what you are talking about has already been developed and marketed by just about everybody in the industry already or are you doing something NEW. What brand are you selling?

thanks chillrdude. as i mentioned...I'm just doing research to see if something like this is even feasible. Would you mind telling me the other companies / products that are out there so I can check them out?

All of the big 3 chiller manufacturers, Trane, York, and Carrier either have their own controls or have have teamed up with one of the big players in the control business Johnson, Honeywell,Siemens to name a few. They all can remotely monitor chillers and chiller plants and gather real time data and make corrections to optimize the performance of the system based on that data.

Right now all the big players are still fighting to hang on to all their propietery bullsh#t, it is just a matter of time before every piece of equipment will have some kind of comm device standard. Whether it will be comm5 or something else remains to be seen.

There are a bunch of smaller controls companies that can, and do a lot better job of making their products more affordable and more reliable, not to mention more user friendly.

Not sure if your question has been answered but do a search on this site about Lonworks, or Tridium or maybe comm5 and see what comes back, also look for any posts by Sysint, he really knows his stuff and is on top of all the latest comm5 stuff. I havent seen him here in awhile, but there is a ton of good info archived here.
