    I heard that Johnson Controls in the New Jersey area is hiring HVAC mechanics.Are they a good company.

    i have been with jc for 10 yrs. if you ignore all the politics theyre pretty good. depends on the branch office your in. iam in canada and hvac here is union shop which probably helps. log onto jc's website lotsa info there

    Worked with J.C.I. out of the Raleigh branch for 7 years, mech.s were non-union,construction was. Damn good Co. to work for. Great bennies,reasonable pay. As stated in other post the politics at the local level were the only PIA to me.

    They did not at the Raleigh branch, but that was in '91
    Just an interview,drug test and usual paperwork. Remember that sometimes with larger companies, it may take some time before you start work after they first express an interest in you.Everyone up the chain of command has to give an o.k. Don't get discouraged - if you can go with them it will be for a 1st rate company with outstanding bennies.
