Hello, we are currently living in Oregon but are seriously thinking of moving to the Tampa area of Florida. We are wondering if anyone has an idea of average wages in that area for an hvac installer with more than 15 years experience in residential and 5 plus years in commercial. Has own tools and a good driving record with current license. Thank you.

The average wage in Tampa for a non union installer would be in the range of $15-$17 per hour. The higher end would for a Tec that has been in the company for a while. The higher wage companies do not allow any overtime.

Residential installers ,on "performance pay",smae as piece rate,make 650 to 1000 a week,in less than 50 hours,often less than 40.
New construction rough(duct)installs are all duct board and flex duct, some prefabed, very easy.
Replacements system, are either with air handler in garage,or the dreaded attic heat.
You can email your resume,to the "contact" in our website,or dave@ the same url,if you want more info.We have two locations ,one just north of Tampa and one 50 miles north of that.
