I have a question about freezer timers, does the timer control the contacter for the compressor? If it does, then if I had a bad timer I would not have any volts on T1 T2 T3or would it. basically I have a freezer that has power to the timer but is not running . I also found a ground wire and the compressor run wire burnt in half. the rest of the wires the plastic coat over the insulation on the wire looks iffy (is iffy even correct word). so I know I'm going to replace all the iffy wire.

there are different ways of wiring them, (assuming that this is electric defrost) what I usually do is to wire the liquid line solenoid valve through the defrost clock,
that means when the unit goes into defrost ti pumps down and the contactor is controlled by the low pressure controlhem
