    Field Piece Air Velocity Head

I bouth the head for the AAV3 Air Velosity head and question their explanation of calcuating the CFM they state to take the free area of the register and x that by length and width devide by 12 to get the Cft and take the average Feet per min mesuerment to get CFm. There had to be a better way, or am I way confused on this one? also what is the break down to btu output and tonnage in regards to each registers cfm. Not sure if I can post here with this question , just checking.

    Thanks,

    Ken Atcher Service,

They mean to measure the area where the louvers are to find its area. You should then convert that to sq ft.

The area you measure though. is not the actual free area. Since it has louvers. Many supply registers are only 70% free area.

sq ft time FPM equals CFM.

Go to Hart&Cooley's website. They have a lot of usefull info you can down load. On check air flow at registers and grilles.
