I started working for them a couple of months ago.
Pay is ok... at least for my area
Have not seen or heard about any trade related training
40% hvac and about 60% other stuff ( at least as a MES tech).
And if your area is like mine, REALLY busy
I just got called for an interview with this company. Anyone have any experience with them? How do they pay and do they have good benefits? Also do they believe in ongoing training. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I've been with JLL for two years in now. Best company I have ever worked for. Assigned to MES in Michigan. The pay is great ( we're union). The work is easy if you have some decent skills. We do retail stores and bank maintenance. They dont really stress training around here but join RSES or take a few classes at the supply house to stay on top of your game.
Thanks for the responses guys. It will help me with my decision.

I got an offer form JLL and I think I am going to take it. Very good pay and benefits. They look like a good company to work for.

Go ahead, It's not so bad. I've been working for JLL since 2006. Pay is ok, benefits are about like anyplace else. Global company with many chances to re-locate or advance based on your skills.
I am looking forward to it. I start in a couple of weeks.

May I ask what kind of wage they offered you. I am thinking of applying with them in Los Angeles. I would like to know if it would be worth applying. I currently work for a mom & pop shop and hate it. Although, my wage is great $35.00hr, my sanity is really suffering... Thanks.
Not far from what you are making now and I am in Buffalo where the cost of living is lower. Also 28 Pto days,Full health benefits, 401k, stock option, truck and tools, uniforms, jacket and parka. I had none of this except for the truck and I am union. I needed something more stable and they seem to be able to offer that. They have market share and are growing, what else could you ask for?

I see them all the time in my area, they seem to do a lot of work at banks, what else do they do?
Hey Bob, thats probably me that you see in your area. I service banks in the Howell and Brighton area as well as a couple of retail stores at the Tanger Outlet Mall. The scuttlebutt in our area is that we picked up another national account and that we will be adding another tech to the Metro Detroit area.
Second week and it is a very good job, glad I made the move.

It really is a good company. They do a lot of banks and higher profile asset management all over the world. One of the oldest companys of its' kind, from around 1780. If you like critical systems this is a good place for you. Their wages typically align with demographics, and/or what a particular client will compensate of services. My management has been great to me and they welcome input of ideas. We (JLL) did loose a bid for our contract where I am right now, and I am looking to re-locate with JLL. JCI is getting this account and I don't really know too much about them, but they seem to be waiting till the last minute to talk to our guys and they will not honor tenure or wages as JLL does typically when these transitions occur. JCI has already sat everybody down and told us they guarantee nothing. JLL HR and management have been very gracious to me, but I suppose it is what you make of it. I am a supervisor here, and I know I bet we have all worked for jerks at one time or another. "It's harder to help a man build his house than it is to tear it down, but building is a lot more satisfying." Thanks all!
Hey Tempro, sorry to hear about you guys down in Indy losing the contract to JCI. What client is that? Are you a mobile engineer with MES? Do you ever get those company wide e-mails where they ask if anyone wants to relocate? There always seems to be a lot of engineer positions through out the U.S. Good Luck co-worker.
We had the Lilly account in Indy. I was asst. chief a one of the plants there. I guess all I could say is JCI will have there hands full. It takes a little more than sqft + 2% to take care of this client, they are very demanding. I dont think it was quality of service. These days $$$ always wins it seems. JLL has always been service to client oriented, going the extra to keep them taken care of. I am looking hard at transfer to a mobil tech position for another account. There are a few in the South that look good. Even one of our Ops Managers is going back out to be a mobil tech. There are some Chief and "Lead" positions out there, but they usually back fill locally, and I can't blame them for that, those techs already know the clients and the routes. I always like working with all of our guys no matter what the trade. I specialized more in critical systems and physical plants, but I still love to do HVAC(R). I just hope if I transfer, the local guys will bear with me till I figure out all of the routes and suppliers, vendors etc. I've known the ones here for years. This is a great site here with so many smart techs. Nice to know there are some brothers out there!
