What is the best Carrier Infinity combination for my install?

    Hello everyone,

I have narrowed down my choice of new HVAC system consisting of Carrier Infinity Controller, MVC 080 furnace, 25HPA636 Heat pump and best matching coil for high efficiency and tax credit. I also want to add a Carrier Humidifier (infinity controlled) if not too costly and only if it works as designed.
The furnace and HP selections were based on a load calc and specified by more than 1 Carrier dealer/installer. The problem is they varied on exact model numbers and indoor coil selection.
My question is...what is the exact combination or model numbers that would garner the highest possible efficiency rating (and gov't tax credit) for this size furnace/HP combination?
Also what humidifier would work best and be controlled by the Infinity Controller?
I want to make sure that when I sign the proposal, I know exactly what is being installed and that it will have highest eff and be tax credit eligible.

    Thanks,
    Chuck Simonds

For highest efficiency, have the two companies produce AHRI certificates for the equipment they're proposing in your home. That will give you the actual model numbers of matched equipment. The search they do to get that certificate can be modified to include only tax qualified systems.
If YOU want change, YOU have to first change.

If you are waiting for the 'other guy' to change first, just remember, you're the 'other guy's' other guy. To continue to expect real change when you keep acting the same way as always, is folly. Won't happen. Real change will only happen when a majority of the people change the way they vote!
