Im looking to start a career in hvac and was wondering what the best way to go is in terms of education.I live near columbus state and they seem to have a good course which Im thinking about taking. The course desc is here http://www.cscc.edu/DOCS/HACDES.HTM .My question is would this be a good option? and would I be better off getting a degree or just certified?

I HAVE BEEN IN THE TRADE FOR 17 YEARS AND I AM CURRENTLY GOING TO SCHOOL AT NIGHT AND ON THE WEEKENDS TO ATTAIN MY ASSOCIATES DEGREE. THERE ARE A GREAT NUMBER OF KNOWLEDGABLE TECHNICIANS IN THE FIELD, HOWEVER MANY OF THEM WOULD NOT HAVE THE FAINTEST IDEA IN HOW TO TRULY EVALUATE THE PERFORMANCE OF AN AIR CONDITIONING SYSTEM. MY BEST ADVICE TO YOU IS TO GO FOR THE DEGREE PROGRAM AS WELL AS ATTAINING YOUR NATE AND EPA CERTIFICATIONS. IN THE LONG RUN YOU WILL BE SETTING YOURSELF APART FROM THE HERD. YOU WILL BENEFIT FROM THIS CHOICE - I PROMISE.
AS FURTHER TESTAMENT TO THIS, I WILL TELL YOU THAT I AM FORTY SIX YEARS OF AGE, THE FIELD SUPERVISOR OF MY COMPANY AND MY YEARLY INCOME IS IN THE $70,000 BEFORE ANY ADDITIONAL SIDEWORK. GOOD LUCK AND STUDY WELL!! HOPE TO SEE YOU IN THE FIELD SOMEDAY.
