What to you think of the John Deere L Series lawn tractors as compared to Craftsmans, Murrary etc. Are they worth the extra money? What would you buy?

I just bought a 48 inch cut by Husqvarna-21 HP. My lawn sure looks a heck of a lot nicer too. Had one of those hardware store specials before, sure dont miss it. It was about a $1000 cheaper than a cub cadet.

I have the LX279 J Deere 17 hp, water cooled, twin cylinder kawasaki motor, static drive with cruise control, 48 inch cut. Runs quieter than others but I wish I would have gone for the bigger rear tires for less tire spin on hills. I love my 3 yr old Deere. Worth the money? Let you know in a about 7 more yrs.

    I have the L130 23hp

    I have 2 acres

It takes about 2 hours to cut it. Works great, no complaints.

A friend of ours has the L120, and is very happy with it. Resonable priced too.

I have a Lawn Boy, but if I had a large yard, for sure I'd spend it on a John Deere L-Series.
