try a water sample, may need to chemicaly treat your water.
I have a Munchkin Boiler M/N 399VWHASMEP. Inside the heat exchanger I found an excessive amount of white corrosion. I will try and put a picture up.
I believe it is electrylosis. How do I prove it is,where it came from and how to correct it?
try a water sample, may need to chemicaly treat your water.
I also found a water leak at the top header of the exchanger.
Holy Sheet! I've seen some ugly Munchkins, but nothing like that!
Its the worst I have seen also..I brushed it out and then hosed it out and used CLR to clean..then found the leak.
Now the question is, why did it leak? Water chemistry? Where does it get combustion air from?
The heat exchanger has a leak at the header, allowing domestic hot water to enter the combustion side. Once the burner would light it would flash the water to vapor causing the calcium left in the water to drop. Combustion air comes from pvc venting outside.
