You've got to wonder sometimes, why someone that would do something like that, is working on a commercial unit. Or to come to think of it any unit.

It is an ruacc Trane 40 ton CDU The suction line is 1 3/8 Inch. That is a 7/8 inch sight glass. It is an air cooled chiller. I have three more just like it on site. You are only looking at 20 tons of cooling.

I'll Give it away. Sight glass on hot gas discharge directly after the two compressors tie together. A friend of mines company had this account for years. His techs are not that great.

Cuervo, even though I only drink Hornitos I will explain. The sight glass is connected to the hot gas discharge lines from both compressors after they tie in together. In a nutshell that is not necessary.

The compressors are tandem. They can work together or seperatley providing ten ot twenty tons of cooling. There are four of these units for 160 tons of chilled water cooling in a decoupled loop system. All the compressors can run independently that means I have to program 16 compressors to handle the load. The controls are Andover Infnity. Can you say dial in and use a hyper terminal to program.
