Hasn't springtime hit up there yet? Everything looks dry and dead.
Aside from that, I can only imagine what the rest of the install looks like judging from the location of that trap.
Sent here on a no cooling call. Customer states that the gardener severed the 1/4" liquid line (1.5 ton unit) with the weedwacker. Made the fix, evacuated, and recharged system. Then started to point out all the other "problems" with this system(s) to HO. Starting with the condensate trap. She said the gardener would only reimburse her for the liquid line repair and she couldn't afford to have anything else corrected. Besides, she said its worked great for years. I gave up, said a prayer for her and left.

Round-up does a good job.
Can afford a gardener ????
Well, at least it won't sweat, drip and cause a mold spot on her sheetrock ceiling like it would in the attic...
But in a nice cold winter i see no "p" trap, just water going down the wall. In that case at least you know the unit is draining.Originally posted by spike

In Florida they apparently install the traps outside all the time. Makes sense. In New York. I doubt the AC system will be running in the winter anyway. Worse case scenario: The trap has to be replaced in the summer. Not defending the installer. Just thinking outloud.
