    Dead thermostat

Have a Bryant HP system. My Honeywell T8611M tstat went blank some time last nite. No extreme weather. Circuit breakers were not tripped, but recycled them anyway including air handler. Have 24v across terminals R & C, so power should be ok. No battery in this unit. Any thoughts ???

    You need a new thermostat.

Any suggestions as to its' replacement?? And does that mean I have to replace the backplate?

Get a good contractor to set you up with an IAQ thermostat. Much better control of the aux heat.

And yes, the back plate is a part of that thermostat. And can't be used with another one.
