    Low evap temp alarm

Have a Carrier 2000 ton chiller, problem is when unit loads to 70%. They told me they get low evap temp alarm. I sat a watched unit it was loaded to 50% water temp 44 out,57 in, evap temp 41deg , 79deg cw 88 cw. I could not load up chiller that day. told me evap temp goes to 35deg and water temp rises.R-134A machine.

With 44 out and 57 deg in (13 degree spread), and only 50% load, sounds like they have too low an evaporator flow rate. If the flow goes below the minimum for the heat exchanger, flow through the tubes goes laminar and the approach will skyrocket.

I was thinking the same thing, 13 degrees @ 50 percent, Not enough water...
