    i know how to determine psig on the low side, exsample,unit temp required, cust, -10f coil must be -10f less =-20, using the chart 17psig is reqiered on the low side , but howis the high side determine, or what is the norm, ???

    dx systems in ac typically like 3:1 compression ratios. anything in excess or alot less than that and i start looking for problems. Look at it from that pooint of view. but keep in mind that all systems are different and design plays a big part in this.

    i'm interested in what systems, gases, you wouuld call good compression ratios.

    Most condensing units, no matter what type of refrigerant, whether its A/C or refer., are designed to condense at 110F to 120F.

    ...let me expand on that...
    You asked about pressure...
    The saturated condensing temp is usually at these temps, but the corresponding pressure will be different with each type of refrigerant...thats when press/temp charts come in handy!
