What revelation! Someone in the entertainment industry lied! What next? Salesman that exagerate the products they sell?

I'm not an Oprah fan either. However, having seen her daily on the local news in Baltimore with Richard Sher, it is kind of nice to see her make it big while Sher stayed a local yokel.
Hey; she worked hard and earned a following by spinning her tales. That's entertainment.
Besides, all of the things mentioned are all speculative. What is impovervished to one person is not to another. Same goes for abuse. I whacked my boys once in a while to drive home a point when they were growing up. Local authorities considered that abuse. I considered it a method of teaching them that life can be uncomfortable for those who do wrong.

And lets' not overlook the possibility that the author of this "un-authorized" biography is just another nut-case looking to make a quick buck.
Using marijuana instead of other drugs because it is not as addictive is like shooting yourself in the foot with a 9mm instead of a .45 because the bullets are smaller.

I have no use for her either. However, I can't imagine her not being in poverty in Kosciusko MS in the 1960's.
