What revelation! Someone in the entertainment industry lied! What next? Salesman that exagerate the products they sell?

I'm not an Oprah fan either. However, having seen her daily on the local news in Baltimore with Richard Sher, it is kind of nice to see her make it big while Sher stayed a local yokel.

Hey; she worked hard and earned a following by spinning her tales. That's entertainment.

Besides, all of the things mentioned are all speculative. What is impovervished to one person is not to another. Same goes for abuse. I whacked my boys once in a while to drive home a point when they were growing up. Local authorities considered that abuse. I considered it a method of teaching them that life can be uncomfortable for those who do wrong.

Nah, she's not my cup of tea, but more power to her for what she's accomplished.

Yeah, and the only difference between most of us and most famous people is that the papparrazi don't follow us regular folk around with the express purpose of exposing our own dirty laundry.

And lets' not overlook the possibility that the author of this "un-authorized" biography is just another nut-case looking to make a quick buck.

I have no use for her either. However, I can't imagine her not being in poverty in Kosciusko MS in the 1960's.

Didn't you hear she was a teen prostitute? Sounds like she started acquiring money early on. Kind of germinated from there so to speak. Thank you, thank you very much

Are you suggesting that a person who betters themselves in life deserves to be put down if they better themselves too much? I think you are just jealous Glenn. I'll bet you rooted for the guys who beat her character up in The Color Purple.

I've never been able to respect anyone who does something charitable but airs it on TV so the world can see what a good person they are.
