The new management buzz words don't work for me either. Of course I'm from the old school. I like the old buzz words.

"Get your head out of your a$$."

    "You dumb son-of-a-bit(h."

"What the fu*k do you call this?"

    Them was the days. ahhhhh

Paperwork is all about documenting what you did so some moron who doesn't know a compresser from an expansion valve can micromanage your job to save 2 more pennies.

You do not know what paperwork is.
I quit engineering because all I seemed to do was paperwork. HVAC work is more like engineering than a job with engineer in the title.

Now they are trying to get us teachers to document our curricullum based on national skills standards. We will be spending more time doing paperwork to document this stuff than actual teaching. (skills standards are just military teaching standards. It is something highschools should probably look into, but they would have paperwork in triplicate and really mess up the education system.)

That's why I like working for a small family company, that and if you don't show up until 8:30 or 9:00, oh well as long as you get your stuff done before you leave for the day.

Thats was funny for two reasons. One is, I can see you being that way and it's just humerous, Second is, it is very similair to what my old man would say. That was a great laugh.

I usually head for the market's break room to do my paperwork. I see on the wall all these so called "team player helps".

Crap about goals and strategy and stuff.... all lies!

Go in the back area where stock is stored. You'll see the line up of nearly every cooler door OPEN to some degree or another.
Despite the signs on each door warning of the cost of cold air lost due to doors being left open.

The racks dont utilize technology to stage their units for reasonable energy savings.

Some of the racks are so low on gas ... their sub cooling isnt. ISNT!

And the floor ... their personell is short staffed!

And they regularly throw away enough lost product they could feed a small country in Europe!

I double dog dare a Fire Marshal to ever enter the motor room or even the FHU level of these stores .... there are just so many SERIOUS safety violations ... it aint even funny.

As for paperwork ..you can be the best mechanic in the company, but if you cant convey that to paper in a bullett the companies dont like you. Just bury your head, get in and get out and they will love you!

Had the meeting with my little "yellow skinned" supervisor Friday!! In conclusion, he told me that I should try to impress him more with better paperwork because I'm the new guy!! I told him in return That I'm too damned old to play that game and that he and the company should feel grateful that I chose to work for them!!

BTW this company does not believe in using nitrogen to check for sealed systems nor do they believe in using chemical cleaners for condensers!! Go figure!!

    buzz words

my old standby. "what were you thinking?" It works for all occasions. A few weeks back we were four wheeling. I came around the bend and there was my brother in-law in a lake. His four wheeler was glug glugging. All I could say "what were you thinking?" It took awhile for him to see the humour of it.
I have my own little world. But it's OK...they know me here.
