Thread: Fun with wasps

Here was a surprise for me today. Luckily the HO had sprayed wasp killer in through the hole where they were going in/out and the 24VAC live was also going last year. Only about 10 wasps so I just shooed them away and skewered the nest out with a screwdriver. Most in the unit were dead from last year. Would've been a different story if the full nest was active!!!!!

afterwards I put insulation tape around the stat wire to plug the hole. In the first pic you can see the wasps congregating around the hole wondering what the heck just happened.R2B4BTU

Every time I do away with the hive, they come back and declare war on me.
I keep a can of wasp killer in the truck, but it's hard to concentrate and fight them off at the same time

WARNING! If you approach an outdoor disconnect with the door not completely shut, don't stick your hand inside without looking first! These cracked doors are invitations for nesting. Can't tell you how many times I've seen this. Also, uncovered knockouts are another good entry point. However, they usually build the nests behind the cover plate out of the way.
