    Residential refrigerator

    I have an Amana side by side with a solid state defrost control. Where can I get trouble shooting information? Last domestic refrigerator I worked on had an electromechanical defrost timer which you could turn to advance though time sequence.

    Hi
    If I remember correctly you can diddle the door switch 4 or 5 times in 8 seconds, and it should start a defrost sequence. Note the compressor must be running when trying to force in a defrost. To terminate the defrost unplug unit for 30 seconds. Defrost time will vary according to model and time unit has cycled on.
    T to L2 should go to heating element. I have more info if you need it.
