Question for Don Sleeth

Another forum I visit, Thumpertalk, has been down for about 5 days now.

What are your thoughts on this delay.

hmmmm, let me see, Thumper-Talk, I don't know, maybe they need to give their server a good THUMP! My parents had a rabbit called Thumper one time, maybe he died?

Actually, it works for me so maybe you were banned for talking about your scooter on a motorcycle forum?

Actually, they are doing some upgrades. it is amazing that it would take so long, I'd get killed if it happened here. I break out in a cold sweat if I'm down for 5 minutes!, but here is the story:

Due to the volume of emails we’re getting from TT’ers that are dying without discussion forum access (we understand that some have been hospitalized!), we’ve decide to turn the discussion forums back on in READ ONLY mode. Read only is just that, you will NOT be able to post or reply until the upgrade has been complete. Capturing a “snap shot” of the discussion forum data was necessary as we migrate to a much improved discussion forum software and a bunch of other things that I’ll spare you the details of.

Just know that this upgrade is part of our efforts to continually improve ThumperTalk and to keep up with growth. Please do NOT send an email asking when we’ll be done, as we’ll not respond. We wish that we could respond to each and every one of you individually, but we’re too busy working on the upgrade! On brighter note, the nation’s productivity rate has increased this week. Analysts are speculating that this is due in large part to ThumperTalk’s discussion forums being down. George Bush called today, personally thanking us for this!

Actually I do have a 1983 Honda Aero scooter. A big 50cc.

My 2 girls have been riding it for the past 5 years. Trying to sell it now.

Imagine what the world would be like if this site went down for 5 days. Thousands of addicts going cold turkey all at the same time. Man! Imagine what some of these people would be like , as grumpy as they are around here now, with their fix. I would pity being a HO (or spouse/girlfriend) if that happened.
