staying in heat mode
HEy I have a split system that seems to be in heat mode all the time. I checked the voltage at the orange wire and there is 24 V. When I deisconnect the orange wire I would expect to hear a hissing sound or something. The big (suction) side pipe is extreemly hot and the other smaller (liquid) side is hot but not as hot. I think the reversing valve is stucks, but how do I know for sure?
Thanks

There is too much information needed to asses the problem properly.

Yes I have a useful comment - I hate that orange wire - it always gets stucks. My big pipe isn't hot or hissing either. Hate that too.

If you touch the orange wire to the red, the black or the white wire, it should stop heating.
At that point, you would be best served by calling a professional to undo the damage that you have done.
A similar, but more dramatic result can be obtained by touching either the black or the red wire directly to the suction line. THAT is one heck of a way to stop the unit from heating.
Just an aside. All of the above advice was given in jest. DO NOT attempt any of the things that I have suggested. Doing so may cause personal injury, damage to your system and me to laugh uncontrollably.
