Depends on the type of fish........
Throw it in the dish washer and poach it.

Beer batter..mmm
its best when you let the beer sit out all day and get flat.
For salmon, I pan heat in olive oil.. on a slow heat. Cokes it just right without overcooking the exterior...
For other fish, I prefer blackening in olive oil.

I season my salmon then put in the oven for about 20 min. @350 deg. thats good fish!
Blackened in butter, cat and crappie..

ALLLLL kinds of ways to cook fish.
When you are planing a BBQ style dinner I use aluminum foil packets. Cut aluminum foil to accept individual portions of fish. Into each packet place a thin slice of butter, thin slice of onion, sprinkle with Old Bay, a piece of fish, old bay, thin slice of onion, pad of butter, few drops of lemon juice. Fold it up tightly so the juices stay in.
Place each packet on the grille for about 10 mins on each side. Serve right in the packet. Goes good with corn on the cob. BBQ taters cole slaw and all that summertime stuff.
Ok not to highjack the thread but I have a question. I know nothing about fish other than they do it in the water and all you can eat fish fry. I do like fish and I would like to try to learn more about eating and cooking fish. Any suggestions to start?
Cajun seasoning , pan fry with olive oil...works with most fish and taste great in my opinion.
How about salmon cooked in the dishwasher? google it you will be surprised how good it is.
For tuna I pan fry in Soy-Vay. Cook till you like it. My wife likes it pink(raw) I like it when its just even all the way through. Smoker is good too. The wife also has a good recipe for any fish, it's pan fried with onions, carrots, celery and some other ingredients....I'll try to post it.
I guess what I mean the different tastes from different fish. fryed or baked or breaded i will eat just any way its done, but to me it is all white fish. mabey i am thinking to hard and just point at the fish in the case and say give me that one.
Salmon I always marinate, either teriaki, or white wine and herbs - then do it on the BBQ.
White fish, I bread and cook in olive oil, make a batter and deep fry, or lately; have started to bake it in the oven in a tomato sauce - it's good and easier on my increasing girth......
