Have a Pro add another return, maybe in the master BR,this will reduce the flow at the noisey grilee.

Second choice, change the grille to a larger one.

Better be careful with that and keep it within specs.

air flow can be adjusted if it is to high, that is RARELY the case.

chances are the return is undersized and the best solution is adding more returns or increasing the size you now have.

undersized return will be noisy when trying to move the proper amount of air and slowing the air down will cause the unit to run to hot or cause freeze up problems for air conditioning.

undersized return will also hurt overall system efficiency.

you can lower the fean speed, which will lower the cfms, but I was assuming it was set correctly. Since it's noisey, the cfms are not likely to be too high now, undersized grille, usually undersized ducts.

Have it tested and find out.

sounds like you might be short of return air.i would have it checked before you start going through blower motors.does the whistle change or stop when you remove the filter?

Yes, it can be done. of course when you do that. It also decreases the amount of air coming out of your supplies.

Which can cause troubles with your system.

Better to fix the cause of the noise, then lower air flow.
