Carrier rooftops? Start ordering replacement heat exchangers
What's that heap to the very right? Looks like the condenser section of an old Trane but too big to be.
I think the HX's are the least of his problems.

Well ,it is metal, not flex ,so it must be okay.hehehehe
You guys are all a bunch of women. If you had any reasoning at all you would study the situation before spewing your crap. The building was a retrofit with 10' ceiling so there was no room for ductwork, this is California so weather plays no role in the installation, the owners wanted to keep costs down so custom duct was out of the question. I bet 75% of you guys that spew your thoughts about the job couldn't lay out 1/2 the fittings I can. I've been doing layout for 20 years and if there was a call for it I could lay the job out, fabricate it and instasll it. How many of you jokers can do anything other than put it together?
yea, i can see the quality.......pleum box(insulated??)...smoke pipe (not even spiral) and those adjustable 90's (stamped long radius??)....i commend your engineering dept. also.........i guess you get what you pay for. you've got about $300.00 worth of metal there, i hope you gave your customer a deal.......

Hey Squeekie....I'm not trying to put you down..well maybe a little, but, insulation isn't an issue??? What the Fudge are you talking about? Anyways everyone who has responded here so far has extensive experience in the field...added up it's probably over 100 years of combined experience in the field, and we all sort-of had a community question: Who puts ductwork on a roof (black, hot as hell roof) and dosn't insulate it? I guess Californians don't care about wasting energy, who cares about rolling blackouts anyway?Sorry to rant, I just don't get it. PS: The ductwork looks straight and well sealed, other than it not being insulated, I would say it's an excellent installation. Good-Luck to you.
latex pookie will melt then adj. elbows will melt. When unit starts 160 degree air will come out of grills till equalized

The duct is circlelined and the plenun is 1" lined. And, yes the older women who owned the thrift store were given a good deal.
Home Depot must had a clearance sale on ductwork i see.
OK Squeekie, I see it is insulated...well, you folks out west do things differently than here I can see that clearly, but different isn't necessarily wrong...I apologise for what I said earlier about your install. I wouldn't ductline it myself, but it is insulated, and I have to say the end result does look excellent. My hat's off to you.Usually around here we only use liner for noise, and sparingly at that especially with all the indoor air quality issues that have been raised lately. I hope you will post some more pics of future installs, it's really interesting to see how it's done elsewhere. When I first looked at it, it looked like it was done in a foreign country. Well I guess it still does, but good-Luck to you anyway!
