    BTW, "angel" is simply another word for "messenger". One of the Son's functions was that of messenger and there are several passages that refer to THE Angel of the Lord and it is referring to the Son. Context makes it clear when the angel was a created angel or when the Angel was the Son.

    I believe TB has it pretty close... I would add one thing:

    Scripture says Satan uses deception to 'trick' us into believing things that are not true... and as such not follow God's lead.

    There are numerous Christian books by well known authors that suggest the real Christian issue is the 'Battle for the Mind'... That is, will we believe what God says... or a 'human watered down' version... which is probably full of subtle deception by Satan?
