What software programs (Lonmaker, Lonspec, etc.) will allow me to program Honeywell LON controllers?

Different HW controllers require different software. More specific please.
Build it and it will break. Fix it and it will work. Ignore it and will cost more. Patch it and it will get worse. Cross the bridge before the flood.

Front end and a jace on site. The controller is white, rectangular, i/o's on the right and left, front pulls off and board disconnects from the backplate with the cover leaving the wiring terminals and backplate.

Thats an xl10. Should be able to view the configuration in the jace/front end. You will need admin access to it.

Depends on the jace. NP try to get more info on the jace, could be easy if it is an ax jace with the proper wizards loaded. Otherwise you can unplug the bus and suck it up into lonspec and check it out that way, just have to be careful not to change any nodes or lonlinks to it just use the info to check it out and do not download or commision it, and be sure to power it down before you put it back on the bus(just a precaution). Not recommended if you are not familiar with lon, if you build a network and give it the wrong address and do not know how to fix it in the jace you will have effectivly removed it from the system.
