4-6 year payback, broader "range" on heat (more stages) and therefore better comfort.
Never sold AC, only heat pumps. Here are some of mine.Which makes more sense to you?
CONSERVATION - turning your thermostat back and being uncomfortable. Maybe saving 5-10%
ENERGY EFFICIENCY - leaving your thermostat where everyone is comfortable. Saving 30-70%
DO THE NUMBERS! Step on a HOMESCALE.
What is comfort? Well, it AIN'T just TEMPERATURE!
Energy Obese? An audit is the next step - go to BPI.org, or RESNET, and find an auditor near you.

my 13 year old dog Hunter. Goes everywhere with me. If you are referring to erv, no, that house is not tight. House does not need to be tight to have iaq issues.
Also, Humidifier is very inexpensive "better safe than sorry" measure. Carriers water saver unit. Rounds out the perfect humidity equation. Don't want to assume there won't be a cercimstance that calls for humidification.
We live in a cold climate so actual moisture content can get
really low. Add low occupancy/volume and not having it is unacceptable risk for such top of the line installs.Which makes more sense to you?
