RTAC noise
Wa testing a small RTAC today and noticed after shutdown a tapping noise coming from both discharge lines. Machine is an 03 model...could my check valves be cutting up?

That loud slap you hear after shutdown is the checkvalve(s) closing . Its normal .

Sounds like the stepper motor in the carrier EXV'S sounded like that when they indexed.

Did you have water flow while it continued to make noise ??? If so it could be that the different temperature of water was causing refrigerant migration making the check valves flutter????
