Went on a water leak call the day after a new install. Water came down through the floor boards, insulation, ceiling, and light fixture and then on to the top bunk bed.

They forgot to go over that part in class. Told them to use a trap but forgot to tell them which end went where. Never seen that FU before.

Saw the same thing on a SpacePak last year. Fourtunatly, the secondary drain pan sensor shut the unit off. Just had to do a little reconfiguring.

we did a small job that had 8 units on it. Our guy that ran the drains did it just the same way. I asked him what was wrong with the picture? He had know idea, so I explained the whole thing to him, told him to remove them and do it right. He installed the traps exactly the same way again! What a friggin'idiot.

Troyorr,
There was a secondary drain pan underneath this unit and piped to the outside over the gutter but it must have gotten bumped past the outside edge of the blower by a few inches thus causing the problem.

They were smart enough to build a float switch into the primary drain pan on those old Space-Pak units. Someone was thinking!

The sad part is there were three of us looking at the trap at the time. We all zoned out. Sometimes you eat the bear and other times the bear eats you.

I don't think it is the trap. It is the high eff. air filter that is restricting the ail that you have the "bong efect" so the water can't drain. LOL
