I pulled out all my money when the market was soaring. The 10% penalty was a lot less than what I would have lost if I had held onto it.

They will pull some stunt like imposing a fee based on the amount in the account.

Time to get out of the stock market. Think you've seen the stock market fall? Wait until all the retirement savings is pulled out of the stock market on the same day to put it into floating a failing government.

And treasury backed securities are not secure if the govt. backing them is in such bad shape that they can't survive without pulling something like this.

uuum interesting that I have at least three different sources that are all saying the same thing, the difference is they all are saying this is going to be a snow job. They seem to think the government MAY try to 'back door' this so no one will realize it's happened til it's to late.

I don't trust The Annenberg Fact Check I did a little Fact checking of my own on them, they are left leaning Progressives whose Facts are skewed for the LEFT Wingers

Well, Walter Annenberg was a pretty conservative guy, but he's been dead for a long time now. Fact Check resides at the University of Penn, a pretty liberal place, in general. I used to be at their radio station.

In reference to what you posted: I suspect people take the "lump-sum" because they have no confidence that there "payments" will be there in the future
