Actually, Dice may well have focused this debate (intentionally or not) where it should have been all along.

    Right?
Dice, if you look at how the ASE certification program works in the automotive industry, you'll understand where NATE plans to go with its program. NATE intends to be the ASE of the hvac industry.

    ASE is a voluntary certification...
NATE is also a voluntary certification. Now one may have legitimate concerns one how NATE is marketing their certification, but there is no effort to make this certification mandatory. I can't even image an enforced national certification for hvac techs, other than EPA 608, which isn't particularly effective anyway. Remind me madeinusa, what are these ATROCITIES NATE has supposidly committed?

I'll get back to you on my input on "the other" post so we can keep this one pure.

Will be a little later as I am swamped.

DeltaT, the only real point I was trying to make is question #1 is not particularly relevant, unless you happen to be a conspiracy fan, and questions #2 and #3 are more apropos. And I'm not sure if there is a question #4

My focus is where it should be, it was intentional.
You can discuss here but keep it real short, like a couple sentences at most.
I think the voting is about done anyway.

No need, it will die out soon, unlike a ceratin gun thread that will live on for all eternity.
