Anybody have any experience with these Gazco/Stovax fireplaces that are made in England? I have a Client who wishes to purchase and import these for his new house. Local gas inspector wants them tested before he'll even think about approving the installation. Just wondering if there are any opinions/issues out there. Thanks.

My suggestion ---- don't buy offbreed appliances. Gas fireplaces will usually last for decades, but may need to be thrown away if you can't get a needed part.

Thanks SP
But our Client has his heart set on these fireplaces and is sticking to his guns. We, as the house designers, need to be able to stickhandle these things through the system. Our Client has already been told exactly that, to which his response was that he'll just make sure there are parts on hand in the fire place kits when he orders them, and he has no qualms about getting the parts direct from England if he needs to. His money, his desires, we have to make his dreams come true....
