Howe ice machine
Has anyone had problems with rust in the bins? The support tubing at the top of the bin is rusting...2 years old. The tubing is stainless.

I have seen rust on stainless trim and frames where chlorine was present. You may need to install filtration to prevent this. My experience was on manitowoc inside bins, had to use emory cloth to remove it.

So chlorine in the supply water, that seems like a bad thing.

It all depends on the municipal or city water supply. I know in
Seattle the water is very soft, BUT... it is somewhat corrosive on the alkaline side. So I have seen the same thing in unfiltered ice machines. and of course we must treat cooling towers with inhibitor as well."Don't wish it were easier, wish you were better"
