Ive been going on several calls recently involving older residential furnaces... Yorks, Armstrongs, and Lennox. All of them have been a pain in the A$$.
Friggin 17 year old HE York with plastic tubing everywhere and those stupid plastic hose clamps and nipples that break if you touch them.
Lennox units where I have to convert the ignition to an S86...HeyBob helped on one valve that was totally archaic.
Armstrong units that have 50 screws holding the burner box together.
Oh yeah....stupid carriers that take me an hour to change the HSI.
Its 9:30am and I feel like I need beers!

I have always thought that any engineer involved in designing a furnace should be REQUIRED to disassemble and REASSEMBLE their design....
