    computer help

    I need to open a file. Its a spreadsheet.xlsx. My excel doesn't recognize it. What program can open that? thanks!

    .xlsx is office 2007 format, it would have to be re-opened in 2007 and then do a "save as" excel 97-03 for it to make it a regular .xls that you could open with your older excel.

    It appears that it's a 2007 Excel file. What version of Excel are you using?
    Have the sender to save it in the format you are using to open it.
    You can also change the extension to .zip and look at the file as .xlm data if you know how to read it (I don't).

    Use Google and do a search on xlsx converter
    There are all kinds of converters out there.

    Microsoft offers an update that will automatically convert this file when you open it. It does that for me with Office 2003.
