HVAC as a Career Change

I'm considering HVAC as a career change. I'm 40 and live in MA...I'm looking for Pros/Cons and well as schools to get started. I've researched this field and the future should be bright. Would love some advice from the pros..

You will learn things in school that are of great benefit! The hands on is a must also, as with any schooling there is only so much that you can gain without getting you hands dirty. My profressors are great and have worked in the field for years so there knowledge is of books and good ole hands on. I also trained with a A/C contractor for a few months and he is great, a wonderful teacher and patient with a newbe....
