Not Sure how many here know this..... But if you take a White Onion and borrow a slice from it,, "On the grill" insert this slice under the meat. I don't know why, But this will make the meat very soft.

Probably the acid in the onion works on the meat. I like to use stuff like lemon juice and vinegar because of the acid in them to make meat tender.
I'll try that onion trick. You can always eat the onion after.
Tomatoes are acidic too. You can marinate, sorta, just leave a slice on the steak for a while, or overnight. Use the red ones, not orange ones.
