I am so glad that Judas ratted out the Christ and that he was hung up on the cross; that was the best part of the movie. Historically, it was not very accurate, but I smell an Oscar. Great job Mel!

    Hey mech890,
I guess you don't believe in George Washington or Abraham Lincoln either. There's more and better documentation that would meet the "rules of evidence" of a court of law on the life, death, burial, and ressurection of Jesus than there is on the existence of either of those 2 great presidents.
No reserve. No retreat. No regrets.

I'm not a real religous type and don't know much but that is one disturbing movie. I wish I hadn't seen it.

You don't really believe what you just wrote do you? What concrete evidence do you have to support that Jesus was in fact a real person? The bible doesn't count because it is a work of fiction so try something else, OK?

OK motoboy, so discount the Bible. What I said still stands. Don't take my say-so. Investigate it for yourself.

I think there is little doubt he existed. I'm sure some of the writings about him were wrong and often taken out of context. Was he God? No proof, you have to believe whatever you want. But he certainly influenced the world a great deal bringing revolutionary ideas of love, hope and the belief there is more to living than simple greed & and self serving acts.

It made 24 mil the 1st day, only cost 30 mil to make.
Apparently had good marketing, kept very quiet and generated interest that way. It will lose out on the dvd buying market though. Not the kind of flick you want to own and watch over and over. I don't. Glad I saw it, but the images are too graphic to sit through more than once.
