Air filter differental pressure

I am installing magnehelic gauges to measure pressure drop across some filter banks. I know it's best to use static pressure tips on each side of the filters, but is it okay to just stub out the tubing on each side. Also is it best to run the tubing to the middle of the filter bank or can you just run it a few inches into the filter section? Most installations I have seen in the past have been just the tubing run about 3 to 10 inches into the unit.

we stub the tubing anywhere on either side of the filters all the time, no need for static pressure probes. Your sensing absolute or gauge pressure and not velocity pressure as in a static application.

As mentioned previously, you can "stub" the
tubing in and make it work. In this type of
situation, it's probably more about how the
install looks. Will probably look a little more
professional if you stick something on the end
of the tubing instead of just poking it in and
having it hang there.
