    how to run partial load on carrier 19XR

    Hi all,

    My site is using 2 separate water chillers which the model is 19XRXXXX. my question is will these chillers can be run under its 50% of load? if so, how ?
    I would appreciate all of your quick answer.

    Sure these chillers can be run under 50% load, but if you have two chillers running at below 50% load, why wouldn't you just run one chiller(assuming they're on the same chilled water loop)? It would be cheaper energy wise to run one chiller if it is capable of handling the load. Are they in series or parallel piped?

    Depending on the exact modes and serial #. You need to contact Carrier for the minimum load on these units. Much below 50% on my 19XR’s and there’s oil return issues along with Cycle Restarts.

    Confused Running at less than 50% load

    Do these chillers have hot gas bypass ?

    Like any other fixed speed centrifugal, when the vanes are closed that's as small as it gets.
    Then the compressor discharge temp goes up, and the oil return starts having problems.
