    Give the kid a break.

He's trying to stay employed, he's obviously never been mentored, he's not giving up, he's wingin' it until he makes it. That sound familiar to anyone here?

Kid's got heart. More than any of us can say about a whole bunch of kids his age nowadays. Some of you old-timers in his area oughta look him up, take him under your wing.

I have seen all I need to, and only 4 1/2 mins in to it....

1- he put the low side hose on backwards.
2- about 4:20 take a look at the sideways view of the venting. Instant w/h vented along with probably a furnace looks pretty small for the BTU load, and is the a single wall wye with b-vent on both sides (is it a DIY ya think?)

sometimes it's a good thing to have DIY'ers out there cause they will pay us to fix it right, but this guy just looks dangerous. I guess the only hope is if he ever get's the idea of a wanting a vasectomy, then wants to try it himself......
The Lord must love stupid people or he wouldn't have made so many.

Why is it that when I am in a hurry, everyone else on the road goes 15 MPH under the speed limit?

Dave, are you serious? If this mook is clueless enough to post something like this on youtube he has no idea what he doesnt know. This guy in a service vehicle = death and destruction ,because hes obviously as smart as he is ever going to get.
Im waiting for his how to be an engineer video.

    Yes, I''m serious.

It's obvious that the ONLY experience he has is the one car a/c he mentioned. I say he's trainable. I say someone NEEDS to school him up before he gets hurt or hurts somneone. I say the kid has potential. If I were in Indiana, I'd track him down. Guys like him don't piss me off. It's the actual tradesmen who are regularly featuerd in this section that get me. Guys that have training, experience, and still are a hazard.

Plus, he could also be trainable in sales.

Just to clear things up, are you impressed with this kid because he is taking the initiative to make a video discussing things that he knows nothing about? Or that he is creating the illusion that he does know what he's talking about to average diy'ers? Maybe you can explain this heart ideal thing to me 'cause I must not have it since I don't go out of my way to misinform folks.

    Fellas -

Everything you point out about this kid is accurate. He's unqualified to even fetch tools for most of us. I'm saying I see potential. Mostly because he's trying, I guess. That used to be worth something.

I get what you are saying Dave, my only concern is why would he post something on the web for everyone to see when he isnt sure about what he is doing yet? One of the most important qualities for any tech is to know when to say,,,,,,,,,,,,,,i give, and get some help.
It doesnt look like he even went to someone who knew what was going on before he posted his video.
In a nut shell hes not very bright, just my opinion, i didnt say he wasnt likable or didnt have a bit of go get em, he just didnt do a bit of homework besides the pricing and even that was low for a real set of gages.
