pay attention
Furnace keeps cutting off, need heat before pipes freeze, no one lives in rent house. Furnace in dug out basement.
All fuel through floor

Where is it
.
Looking up through flue pipe
.
Cooling coil
.
And the heat exchanger
.
Be safe not fast. body parts don't grow back

Might want to clean that coil first though.... Just dont forget to vent the place for a couple hours before you go back in...

On a more serious note, draining the pipes and winterizing the place until you can replace the unit might be your best bet if no one is currently renting the place.

What is that? An old oil burner? Or was it gas fired?

ya that's a mess....... Our local code would also make you have a one inch clearence around that flu pipe where it touch's the floor
If you can not do it right, Why even do it at all?
