it's was working this morning...yea right

Ran this call for no heat today. opened the control panel. the pic shows the burnt wires near the gas valve and the slighly melted ignition module and wire plug. so i pulled the heat exhanger cover and found what you see. no wonder it fried the wiring.

    An accident waiting to happen.

I assume you shut off the gas and tagged it...

Someone is about to get new heat...

I would be questioning why the rollout switch didn't open.

Fennwall is the ignition modual, not the HX

BTW why not just use a Honeywell universal? Why wait for the BO?

Oops guess I missed the Fennwall part. But with the dammage that is evident I would still recommend a new furnace......there is a good chance to get some rebate money too!

Looks like the 14 year old Trane I just replaced. Thank the lord for roll out switches. Went with heat pump this time. Dont want to take the chance on waking up dead with that again!!!

forgot to add that there was 2 wires below the burners wire nut togeather, pretty sure they were for the rollout switch. so it was an accident waiting to happen.

Replace the ignition control with a universal module, but find out what happened to that lennox heat exchanger before you put another one in. I just don't see them that bad unless there is a serious problem
