    Gotta love Carrier RTUs.

Hey where did the panel go? Oh there it is. By far the worse panel fastening in the industry. I have had the screw holes stripped right out of the factory. And on another note from the same roof, apparently even Carnes is not sure about their model numbers. Needs new bearing and I figured the parts guy at the office would not believe me when I put a question mark down on the parts form.

RH side of label says it all

Trane doesn't need ? they'll tell you that it's not theirs with the entire model and serial legible

We had some heavy winds one year and the wind blew through the condenser coil and blew the carrier doors right off. I went to a carrier class once and the instructor spend time telling us how to strengthen up the fan motor brackets. I think they started using thinner sheetmetal.

Yep carrier is the only ones that make RTU's out of 36 ga. sheet metal. I carry 3/8" replacement sheetmetal screws for all my Carrier units.

I carry the larger size sheet metal screws, but with 5/16 hex heads.

I'll have to take some pics of units I see with multiple "new holes." It will explain why I use the original hole with a larger caliber screw.

What do you mean? You don't like the swiss cheese look? I too get a kick out of the long line of holes along a panel edge. And the best fun is trying to remember what hole your screw came out of so you can put it back in tight.
