Temp output during defrost
I got a reading of about 65 deg. from my vent during a defrost cycle. Is this an acceptable temp? Seems a little cold to me.

seems a little cold. Pull amp draw to see if all strips are connected and functioning. I've seen units installed with undersized wire and breakers. The installer would disconnect some of the strips so you may have 10KW but only 5 or 7kw connected.

I think the other question that should be asked is "why are you even having a defrost call" for the SC coastal area.
what was outside temp and humidity when defrost call started?
time defrost or demand defrost?

Bob,
You have demand defrost with your Lennox XP-16. 65 degrees seems about right with a 4 ton and 10 KW strips. I have had 2 other calls on defrost already today. It was 37 degrees when i got up this morning, it is normal to have defrost during those conditions.

Thanks Kevin. I know about the demand feature. It just seemed 65 was a little chilly when in defrost. If you say it's OK, that's good enough for me.

You have 48K cooling and 34K heating. Cool air would be expected.

That's a minimal amount of back heat for a 4 ton HP - I hope you're in a hot climate.
